What's this?

This is a graph of Lightning Lane wait times recorded from the Disneyland and Disneyworld apps. The wait time is the amount of time it takes a freshly booked lightning lane to become redeemable. The times are sorted into slots of 10 minutes to make processing them easier.

As of August 17th, there are 93,788,692 recorded times sorted into 3,455,365 ten-minute slots.

What are the different modes?

The Crowd Level adjusts how relatively busy of a day is graphed. Selecting a higher mode means a busier day will be shown. Use a crowd calendar or make your own estimates to see wait times that are more relevant to your stay.

The Availability shows how often Emerald was able to find a free lightning lane at a certain time. For example, an availability of 90% means you should be able to book a lightning lane at this time on 90% of days-- on the other 10%, there will be no lightning lanes left.

The Variability shows how much the lightning lanes vary within each 10-minute window. A variability of 30 minutes means that times will shift from 30 minutes below the estimate to 30 minutes above the estimate.

Can I see the raw data?

Yes! You can access the histogram data used to build this graph here --or add ".json" to the end of this page's link.

If you want more granular data, please message me on the TouringPlans forums here. Self-serve data exports are available in CSV and JSON formats.

Why does it say estimates may be innacurate on busy days?

On busy days, Disney will often run out of lightning lanes. Having no lightning lanes means Emerald can't display an estimated time for them. Always check the availability to ensure there will actually be lightning lanes available at your desired time.
